Make November count

While most of us don’t celebrate Thanksgiving over here in Singapore, we can still make our November count. After all, November is the penultimate month of the year! You’ve worked hard the past year, so it’s time to start looking at how to reward yourself and recharge before the busy holiday season starts 😉

Shop a little more

Whether you’re looking for a gift someone something special, need to refresh your home with new furniture or simply want to shop till you drop, there are plenty of sales going on around Singapore this pre-holiday season. In fact, many places also hold special bazaar sales and sometimes even pop-up flea markets. They’ll usually promote it on newspapers and other avenues closer to the dates, so don’t worry about missing out!

Immerse yourself in Literature

Did you know that Singapore’s Writer’s Festival is held every November? The multilingual festival features the four official languages of Singapore English, Mandarin, Malay and Tamil. For bookworms and literary-starved addicts in Singapore, the Singapore Writer’s Festival is a highly accessible event, with a gamut of activities available, both free and ticketed. For families with young children, storytelling sessions are available too.

Check out their website for more information.

Feel Thankful Everyday

As November is the 11th month of the year, it’s the best time of the year to reflect on all the everyday blessings and gratitude over the past year, before the year wraps up. Challenge yourself to the 30 days of Gratitude Challenge. Journalling is a good way to encourage yourself to focus on all the positives the year has given you. It’s an easy exercise that requires no more than 5-10 minutes of your time daily too.
