FAQs

Q1. WHAT IS PULSED LIGHT?

Pulsed light systems like Sharplight use hand-held flash lamps that emit gentle pulses of light which are absorbed in different skin lesions. Excellent long term results are achieved when treating hair, superficial capillaries, skin pigmentation, acne and other skin lesions.

Q2. HOW DOES LIGHT BASED TECHNOLOGY WORK?

Light based technology is based on a method called “selective photothermolysis”, which works by selective destruction of a specified target without damaging surrounding tissue. When treating textural complaints such as fine wrinkles and large pores, the light stimulates growth of collagen which makes the skin glow and look more youthful.

Q3. ARE PULSED LIGHT AESTHETIC TREATMENTS PAINFUL?

No. During the procedure, a slight, momentarily stinging sensation might be felt, but not pain.

Q4. ARE PULSED LIGHT AESTHETIC TREATMENTS SAFE?

All pulsed light treatments are non-invasive and safe, with minimum side effects.

Q5. WHAT DOES SKIN REJUVENATION TREATMENT ENTAIL?

Skin Rejuvenation is the reversal of aging skin by neocollagenesis, which improves skin texture to obtain a younger and fresher look.

Q6. WHAT IS THE IR LIFT TREATMENT?

IR Lift stands for Infra-red Lift. IR technology is used in Medaesthetic medicine for making skin appear younger. IR light heats deeper levels of skin causing collagen to recoil, tightening the skin. It aids in the reduction of lax contour and loose skin.

Q7. HOW MANY TREATMENTS ARE REQUIRED?

The typical regimen is an average of 5-6 treatment sessions, spaced 4 weeks apart.

Q8. HOW DO I BOOK AN APPOINTMENT?

You can call your preferred outlet directly for an appointment, or book online through our web-booking portal.

Q9. HOW EXPERIENCED ARE YOUR THERAPISTS?

All our therapists are certified by the Singapore government and possess the requisite certification to deliver beauty treatments. We have a low staff turnover rate and most of our therapists have been with us for more than 5 years. (Some have been with us for over 10 years!)

Q10. WHICH OUTLET SHOULD I GO TO?

Service protocols are the same at all our outlets, so where you go depends on your preferred location and therapist, and the treatment availability.

Q11. MUST I SIGN UP FOR A PACKAGE?

There will be a consultation session prior to your actual treatment where we will find out about your concerns and preferences. We will also go through a skin analysis after we cleanse off your face to ensure that the recommended treatment is the most suitable for you. Our friendly and experienced therapists will be able to advise you on all your skincare concerns and to recommend the best treatments for your skin condition.

Q12. CAN I TRY A TREATMENT FIRST?

You can try the Sharplight Skin Rejuvenation Treatment at a promotional rate before 31st Dec 2016. We also offer trial sessions for many of our treatments – please enquire directly with us for rates.

Q13. HOW EARLY SHOULD I BOOK MY APPOINTMENT?

Peak hours like evenings and weekends are quickly booked up, so if you want to be sure of getting an appointment during those periods, it is advisable to book 2-4 weeks in advance. (Saturday appointments are usually booked 1 month in advance)
